Joyeux Yule.

Only in New York do we get to have a such a “melange de genres”! This week, I had the chance to attend to a celebration in honor of Diwali at the school I work, followed later by a fun and spooky trick or’ treat with my Birthday boy and then a wonderful Tibetan/Nepalese/Indian fusion dinner!
Only in New York! I love my International city. So thankful for it. Hope you had a great Halloween and Happy Diwali to All My Friends Who Celebrates! 👻🪔🎂

Help!!! ❤️😎

I came back on Sunday from my annual trip to my birth country, France. I started my new job right away on Monday. (More about this later—it's an incredible school.) As a tradition, for the first back-to-school all-staff gathering, which will happen today, we are asked to share a picture that represents a meaningful moment of our summer. I hadn’t yet added the picture to the shared folder, and I wasn’t sure what picture to share. Now, as I just came back on Sunday, I’m also still very jet-lagged, and I woke up at 4 a.m. this morning. I woke up knowing what picture I wanted to share: the "olivier" (olive tree) we planted for our father, with my sisters and my son, this summer. It’s only after I realized that today is August 21st, my dad’s birthday. As I started working at a Quaker school, I’m also learning to listen to and follow my inner voice more. Here, it wasn’t even a voice, as I didn’t do it consciously. I take it as a sign.
