The OSU Seafood Lab had the privilege of presenting our research at the COMES Research Symposium in Newport, Oregon. The event facilitated in-depth conversations and a valuable space to exchange knowledge. Students gained meaningful feedback on their projects and learned about the exciting research happening along our coast. This was a great opportunity to share some of the work being done here in Astoria. We presented a total of eight posters, covering topics from utilizing shrimp oil to wastewater processing. We're grateful for the chance to connect with fellow researchers and look forward to building on these conversations.

Education and outreach are at the heart of the OSU Seafood Lab’s mission. Last week, Clatsop County’s TRIO program visited the Seafood Lab. We were able to share our current projects, explore the science behind seafood, and highlight the role food science plays in our communities.
