Okay, full disclosure: this photo was taken after about a quarter of our teachers had already headed home. 😂 But what a crew!

Art Is For Everyone. 💚

We believe every student should have the opportunity to create, learn, perform, and belong—regardless of a family’s financial circumstances.

That’s why we’re excited to be expanding our Financial Assistance Program this year, including partial scholarships for eligible Art House group classes.

If your child has been wanting to make music, create art, step onto the stage, or try something new at Art House, we don’t want cost to be the reason they can’t.

🎒🎉 Back to School Block Party on 31st Ave! 🎉🎒

We’re so excited to be joining Team AOC and 31st Ave Open Streets for a Back to School Block Party celebrating our amazing Astoria community!

Stop by the Art House table throughout the day for some music, art, theater, and a chance to learn more about what we do! 🎨🎶🎭

✨ Create with us: We’ll be hosting a community art project celebrating important women in Queens—come add your voice and creativity!

🎶 Hear our students: We’ll have student performances sprinkled throughout the day, including some of our talented teens playing guitar and singing.

🐻 A Jungle Book Kids reunion! Our incredible Jungle Book Kids cast will be getting back together for the event. We can’t wait to see these kids back together!

And we’ll be joined by so many wonderful local organizations offering activities and information about afterschool opportunities for families.

The event is FREE, with activities geared toward preschool through 5th grade, plus free school supplies while they last!

Come make some art, listen to some music, play, learn, and celebrate the start of a new school year with your Astoria neighbors. ❤️

💚 This is Art House.

It's making music and making art. Rehearsals and performances. Backstage silliness and big moments onstage.

But mostly, it's the people.

It's friendships that grow over years. Kids who once performed together when they were little, still making music together years later. Teachers who cheer you on. A place to try something new, be a little weird, make something you're proud of, and feel like you belong.

That's the part we love most. 💚

🎭 Audition prep is about so much more than the audition.

This student worked with us while preparing for performing arts high school auditions, went on to attend PPAS, and continued training with us afterward. This performance is from the end of her freshman year—and now she's heading into her junior year. ❤️

We want students to walk into their auditions with confidence—but even more importantly, to leave the process with skills they'll carry with them wherever their artistic journey takes them.

Last night, we gathered at the beer garden to celebrate someone who has been such a huge part of the Art House family for the past 13 years: our incredible teacher, colleague, collaborator, and friend, Jessy Tomsko. 💚

For 13 years, Jessy has poured her heart into Art House, touching the lives of countless students and colleagues along the way. She has taught, directed, music directed, mentored, encouraged, laughed, created, and helped make Art House what it is today.

This year, Jessy is taking on an exciting new chapter—a full-time teaching position at a high school—and while we are going to miss having her here every day, we couldn’t be more proud and excited for her.

And because 13 years deserves something permanent…we dedicated one of our teaching studios to Jessy! 🎶💚

Jessy, this isn’t goodbye. It’s just a new chapter. You will ALWAYS be part of the Art House family, and we know you’ll still be walking through our doors, making music, making theater, and making an impact.

We love you, Jessy. Congratulations on this next adventure! We can’t wait to see where it takes you. 💚
