Turn-taking seems small, but it’s part of so many everyday interactions... sharing materials, joining a game, listening while someone else speaks, waiting for a turn, or learning how to move through activities with others.

A lot of those skills are built gradually through consistent practice in everyday moments at home and in community spaces 💛 Swipe through for a few simple ways to encourage turn-taking naturally throughout the day →

And if you’re looking for additional opportunities for your child to practice these skills alongside peers, our Summer Social Club keeps groups intentionally small so kids have meaningful chances to engage, participate, and build confidence over time.

There’s a reason we love open play so much at Puzzles!

It gives kids room to explore, interact, and build confidence on their own terms. Social skills develop naturally, too, as children practice navigating new interactions and activities at their own pace, without feeling structured or forced.

For many families, open play is also an easy way to get familiar with our space. Returning to the same environment and seeing familiar faces can make a real difference, especially for kids who take a little longer to warm up.

We’d love to see you at open play soon - register on our website to join 💛

We say it without thinking... “what’s the magic word?”
and then wait for the please.

But please and thank you are doing more than we give them credit for. They’re tiny social cues that say I noticed you, what you did mattered, we’re in this together. And kids who use them tend to get pulled into play more, hold onto friendships longer, and feel like they belong.

Swipe for four ways to practice at home, without putting them on the spot.

And if you want a small, supportive space for your kid to try this out with other kids, our Summer Social Club starts July 5th. Just 3–4 kids per group, led by Sofia. Register at the link in bio!

Be our first review! ⭐️

If your family has spent time at our Port location, we’d love to hear from you. A quick Google review helps other parents find us — especially the ones searching for a space where their kid will feel seen.

Even a sentence or two makes a real difference 💛

Thank you for being part of our Puzzles family 🧩

“I need space” might be the most underrated phrase in your child’s vocabulary 💬

Most kids feel overwhelmed before they can name it, and that’s often when meltdowns happen. Giving them the language for big feelings is one of the kindest, most powerful things we can teach.

Swipe through for 4 simple ways to start practicing this skill at home →

This is one of the core skills we’ll be working on in our Summer Social Club starting July 5. It’s a small-group setting where kids will be focusing on Friendship, led by our amazing special ed teacher, Sofia 💛

Port Washington News!

There are a lot of programs out there, but what makes Puzzles different is how everything comes together in one place.

→ An inclusive environment where kids of all abilities are learning alongside each other.
→ Thoughtfully structured programs that support communication, motor skills, and regulation.
→ A team that works collaboratively, so support feels connected, not separate.
→ And a space where families stay involved and kids build real familiarity over time.

It’s not just one thing... It’s how all of these pieces work together to support each child in a way that actually makes sense.

You can learn more about our programs on our website.

Some of the skills kids rely on most start in small, everyday ways.

Learning to communicate more clearly, stay with an activity, or feel more comfortable in a group doesn’t happen all at once. It builds over time with the right kind of support.

Our Speech and OT pods at Puzzles Port Washington are small, structured groups designed to support early communication and foundational motor and sensory skills through play, movement, and interaction.

You can learn more at the link in bio, or reach out if you’d like help figuring out the right fit for your child 💛
