Wow, we're absolutely thrilled as we celebrate our first two weeks at the Jahlil Beats Academy with our incredible students! 🎶📚 We received over 300 applications, and choosing our talented students was no easy task. Our goal is to keep inspiring our kids and help them unleash their incredible talents. We can't wait to see all the amazing things they have in store for us. 🌟

Wow, we are loving the newly painted walls over at the JBA done by Kenneth Art Monster Hunt

We chose black as the color for our classrooms and studio because it symbolizes creativity, sophistication, and a sense of focus. Black provides a sleek, modern backdrop that allows other colors, artwork, and creative elements to pop. It aligns with our goal of creating a stimulating environment where our students can fully immerse themselves in the world of music and arts. Just as a blank canvas awaits the artist's masterpiece, our black classrooms are a canvas for our students to craft their musical journeys.

Welcome to the Jahlil Beats Academy (JBA) where we are putting emphasis on computer science, entrepreneurship, and critical thinking, as well as other modern subjects. Jahlil Beats Academy also features lessons on music production using studio-grade equipment, sometimes taught by renowned guest instructors.

With over 25 years of experience in the music industry, Beats is intent on training the next generation of music industry executives. Through extensive partnerships with key players across the music industry landscape, JBA scholars are able to work alongside some of the top executives, artists, and influencers.

“I just want to give these kids all the tools I know to succeed,” said Beats, who is signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation label. “Growing up in Chester, I didn’t have anyone to look at from a point of view of success. I want to mold these scholars into legit business and cultural figures at a young age, giving them a career and pushing them to be forces in the entertainment field. I’m giving them all my resources.”

“This is a great opportunity for our scholars to have exposure to a new and exciting world. But what means the most to me about Jahlil Beats Academy is that it shows what can be born out of Chester, and what Chester’s success stories can reinvest into our next generation,” said Chester Community Charter School CEO Dr. David E. Clark, Jr.

Jahlil Beats Academy is housed in Chester Community Charter School’s middle school building in Aston, Pennsylvania.
