The bears 🐻 are hungry! They are cruising around town and neighborhoods looking for food. They normally would be eating 29,000 calories a day to make it through the winter. With our dry winter and summer their food supply just isn’t abundant. Most will manage to make it, the females will have fewer cubs next year. They are so very cute, but we must not feed them because that will surely threaten their survival.

Beat coconut soup! Recipe inspired by Claire Ragozzino-Ayurvedic chef.
5 beets peeled and chopped and 2 tsp coriander cooked briefly with top on in 2 tablespoons olive oil. Do this for a few minutes and make sure that it does not burn. Add 4 to 5 cups of water, water or bone broth and I tied a bundle of fresh herbs I have growing on the porch – rosemary thyme, stage, basil, and parsley – and let simmer until beats are soft. Add a can of coconut milk with cream and fresh dill and purée in a blender. Add salt and pepper as needed! Enjoy!
