I'm going to err on the side of caution and cancel lessons for Monday evening. Tasha and I have been very sick with the flu and I don't want to spread it to anyone else. Lessons will resume on the following Monday. Thanks in advance for your understanding. Guitar on!!! This gives us time to properly disinfect the area and make a full recovery.

I recommend starting out with 30 minute lessons, until you get your fingertips toughened up. It generally takes 3-6 weeks to build the calluses that all guitar players eventually develop. These calluses are a good thing! They protect the sensitive nerves in your fingertips that will inevitably get a little bit tender in the beginning of your journey. Over time the initial pain will subside and you'll be on your way to playing the songs you never thought you would be playing! Hang in there through the first month or two and you'll be glad you did. I can't stress enough that there is a sweet spot, as far as initial practice times go. Unless you are already completely committed, I don't recommend practicing more than 20 minutes a day, until you earn your calluses, after that, play as much as you want, but don't burn yourself out. This is a journey, so take your time and enjoy the ride. Guitar on!!!
