I need to say this publicly for all those who volunteered to make the 2026 Viking Festival such a success again.
I cannot express how amazing so many people are to step up, give hours of their time and dedication to make this festival happen.
There is no staff. No officers. One meeting a year to discuss thoughts and ideas.
Leading up to this year it was a bit rocky for a few quiet reasons. The why doesn't matter, but when Saturday morning opened, the entire thing had once again come together.
It was, home again.
Friends, family, family of choice that we see all too rarely, together. The food, the entertainment, the history, the wares. Every person contributed in countless small and very large ways. I heard over and over, I wish I could do more. It takes every one of you to blend together to create the atmosphere that permeated the park this weekend.
I could go on for ever about all the great things I saw this weekend. Please feel free to share a joy you had, and pictures if you would. It goes a long way to remember why we do this thing.
A special thanks to the crew in the mead hall, and one particular "savior" who when we pretty much sold out of everything on Saturday, saw to it we had product for Sunday as well. Every mistake I made in setting it up, they solved before it even came to my notice.
I will say it again.
We have the best crew of Vikings ever. I am humbled to be part of working with you.
