National parks, forests, marine sanctuaries, and historical sites are open year-round. Families with fourth graders should take advantage of their Every Kid Outdoors access to take a trip this

For families with fourth graders, the Every Kid Outdoors program is one way to engage with nature and instill an early love of the outdoors. Learn more and get your pass which give you free access to many national parks!

After spending some time in a Montessori environment, it is clear that the children have a great freedom to explore and practice a variety of materials and subjects. This can lead to creativity and self-mastery. Adult observers tend to experience amazement and wonder at the great levels of social and emotional maturity, often seen in the order, concentration and independence of the children in the classroom.

The Practical Life area of the Children's House (3-6 year) Montessori classroom is one of the most iconic and interesting areas for a child to explore. The many practical and everyday activities, call to the child's natural curiosity and interest. "Flower Arranging" (seen here) is one of the most fruitful of them all!

Mixed age classrooms are one of the most significant aspects of a Montessori classroom.
