What makes Ohio’s public libraries stand out? It’s a commitment to access, collaboration, and community. Ohioans can use public libraries across the state without paying non-resident fees, and libraries work together to connect readers with millions of materials beyond their local shelves.

From books and digital resources to Wi-Fi hotspots, health kits, and welcoming spaces where neighbors can connect, Ohio’s public libraries are much more than places to borrow books. They’re essential community resources that enrich lives every day.

Last year, Wornstaff Library received a grant that allowed us to install a period products dispenser in one of our upstairs bathrooms, helping us provide free period products to our community.

This month, we’re excited to share that the Friends of Wornstaff purchased an additional dispenser for our newly renovated downstairs bathroom!

We are incredibly grateful to our Friends group for their continued support and dedication to our library. Their fundraising efforts help us make meaningful improvements to our building and provide resources that benefit our entire community. Thank you, Friends, for all you do to make Wornstaff Library a welcoming and supportive place for everyone!

A HUGE THANK YOU TO FIDELITY FEDERAL! Fidelity Federal

We’re excited to share some wonderful news! Over the summer, Wornstaff Library was selected as a recipient of Fidelity Federal’s FidFed Cares program, receiving a generous $500 grant to purchase new VOX Books for our collection.

What exactly is a VOX Book?

VOX Books combine a traditional print book with a built-in audio component, allowing readers to listen to the story while following along with the words on the page. They’re a fun and engaging way to encourage reading and help bring stories to life!

Because VOX Books are a bit more expensive than traditional books, we rely on donations and grant funding to grow our collection.

A little behind-the-scenes note: We owe Fidelity Federal an apology for the delay in making our purchase. We were waiting for a coupon to save a few extra dollars! After all, being good stewards of our funds is part of what we do!

Thanks to this grant, we’ve added four new picture books to our collection and expanded our juvenile fiction selection as well. The new titles will be catalogued and ready for checkout soon!
