Southern Oregon University's Masters in Clinical Mental Health Program

Southern Oregon University's Masters in Clinical Mental Health Program SOU's CMHC program operates on a cohort model. A new cohort begins each fall and travels through the 2-year program together.

Students thrive in this supportive style, and our program had 100% placement upon graduation last year. The Southern Oregon University Clinical Mental Health Counseling program prepares students to become professional counselors who are capable of providing extensive mental health services in public and private agencies including county mental health, schools, college and university counseling cen

ters, drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities, Veteran’s Administration, and centers for the elderly. Students complete 90 quarter hours over two years (full-time). The program provides in-depth knowledge and skill building in courses, on-campus practica in individual and group counseling under close faculty supervision, and a 900 hour year-long internship in regional agencies. Students participate in this vital program while enjoying Ashland, southern Oregon’s most diverse and sought-after destination. We offer a unique blend of SOU's challenging learning environment with numerous recreational and cultural opportunities, including the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival located just a few blocks away. The SOU program is designated as a Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP) which allows select out-of-state students from the 15 Western States to pay in-state graduate tuition.
