The Child Development Center is closed next week for maintenance.
Ashland City Schools starts 8/24/26 for grades 2-12, Kindergarteners and 1st graders will have a stagger start 8/24-8/27 with their first full day being 8/28. "Y" Kids will be open for before and after care. We will offer extended care for our registered families for the stagger start.
Preschool will begin 9/9/26. There is transition care available for families transitioning from camp to the school year.

Finding the Fitness Room: Head downstairs toward the boys’ locker room, continue down the hallway, and the Fitness Room will be on your left. If you need help finding it, just ask our Front Desk staff!

YMCA of Ashland Ohio Receives Generous $30,000 Gift in Honor of Jud L. Sedwick
The Board of Directors of the YMCA of Ashland Ohio, along with CEO Molly Riley, extends its heartfelt gratitude to Armstrong and The Sedwick Charitable Foundation for their generous donation of $30,000 to support the YMCA and the individuals and families it serves.
The gift was made in honor of Jud L. Sedwick, founder of Armstrong, whose lifelong connection to the YMCA and compassion for children continue to leave a lasting legacy.
Mr. Sedwick was an active member of the YMCA in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, throughout his life. He had a special place in his heart for children and believed that financial circumstances should never prevent a young person from having opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive. Through his generosity, he helped ensure that many underserved youth could participate in YMCA programs and experience the sense of belonging, encouragement, and opportunity the Y provides.
Today, that legacy continues right here in Ashland.
The $30,000 donation will support the YMCA of Ashland Ohio’s Annual Campaign, “For a Better Us,” formerly known as Partner with Youth. Funds raised through the campaign provide financial assistance for memberships, programs, and access to YMCA facilities for children, adults, and families who otherwise may not be able to participate.
“Many years ago, the YMCA made a promise that no child would be turned away because of an inability to pay,” said Molly Riley, CEO of the YMCA of Ashland Ohio. “We have kept that promise and have broadened it to include adults and families in need. Gifts like this allow us to transform lives, remove financial barriers, and create a healthier and stronger community for generations to come. We are incredibly grateful that Mr. Sedwick’s legacy of caring for others will continue through the lives of people right here in Ashland.”
