A weekend overnight camp designed specifically for neurodivergent youth and youth with intellectual or cognitive differences. Today we celebrated a very special milestone as we wished Angelette Pryer a happy retirement after 10 years of dedicated service with the Hanover Cooperative Extension Office! As our Volunteer Manager, Angelette has been an incredible source of support for our Master Gardeners, 4-H program, and the countless volunteers who make our programs successful. Her kindness, organization, and willingness to help have made a lasting impact on our office and the community we serve. While we are excited for this next chapter in her life, she will certainly be missed around the office. We hope retirement brings plenty of time for new adventures, relaxation, and all the things you've been looking forward to. And Angelette...we know you're "riding off into retirement," but don't ride too far! The office won't be quite the same without you, so don't be a stranger—we'll always have a place for you to stop by and say hello. Congratulations, Angelette, and thank you for everything you've done for Hanover Cooperative Extension. Wishing you many happy trails ahead! 💚🍀

Does your child love animals, science, and spending time outdoors? Then they won't want to miss our Wildlife Explorer Day Camp! Youth ages 9–13 are invited to join us for a day of hands-on wildlife investigations, outdoor adventures, and real scientific discovery. Campers will learn about Virginia wildlife through engaging activities that encourage exploration, observation, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world. Camp Details Date: June 30, 2026 Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Ages: 9–13 Cost: $35
Throughout the day, campers will investigate wildlife habitats, discover animal adaptations, and participate in fun outdoor activities designed to spark curiosity and build scientific skills.

Last week, Lyla Hatcher (Hanover County) and Lily Smith (Goochland County) spent the week learning, leading, and making memories with 4-H'ers from across Virginia at the 2026 4-H Congress. They attended workshops, participated in competitions, connected with new friends, and even took part in the Color Run.

We wrapped up the week with an outstanding accomplishment: Lyla Hatcher was named the State Presentation Competition Winner in the Plants, Soils, & Entomology category! 🏆🐞🌱 Her hard work and dedication were reflected in her incredible scores of 100 and 99 from the judges.

Hanover 4-H is extremely proud of Lyla and the effort she put into preparing for this competition throughout the year. Congratulations to both Lyla and Lily for representing their counties so well and embracing all that 4-H Congress has to offer.

We can't wait to see what next year brings! 💚
