It’s Bdog’s B-day!!

He’s taking a screen-free day to celebrate so he won’t see this till tomorrow, but help me show some virtual love for this badass, funny, smart, kind, caring, sweet, silly, hardworking, compassionate, babe of a farmer. Brian Geier is a top-notch human. So lucky I get to spend my days with him. Happy birthday B!

lamb stew with meat from .creek.farm and bread from that was sweet enough to mail to us for birthday season. (we miss rise up bread! kentuckiana folks, is there a rad bakery we should know about here??), plus potatoes, tomatoes, green beans, and cayenne from our garden, and chicken stock made from the bones of chickens.

we are so lucky and grateful to be able to eat the way we do.

Flourless Chocolate Cake 🍰

4 1 oz squares semi sweet bakers chocolate, chopped
½ cup butter
¾ cups white sugar
½ cup cocoa powder
3 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
Grease 8 inch cake pan, dust with cocoa powder.
Melt chocolate and butter.
Stir in sugar, cocoa, eggs, vanilla.
Pour into pan.
Bake 30 minutes.
Cool in pan for 10 minutes then turn out onto wire rack to cool completely.

Yummmm. This one with a whipped cream chocolate mousse. 😋

Birthday Variety Show lineup. A keepsake for sure.

Such a lovely gathering of people last weekend to celebrate. I was missing old friends but also so moved by all the new friends I’ve been so lucky to meet in the past year.

The variety show was a hoot. Our seven year old friend Sylvan was an excellent facilitator and got everyone to share something. Show and tell, sushi-making demonstrations, gymnastics, karate, yodeling, poetry, ghost stories and more were among the lineup.
