From Raider to rising creative professional, Kayle Poteracke ’19 is putting her SOU experience to work in exciting ways.

During her time at Southern Oregon University, Kayle built a foundation in Social Media and Public Engagement while making her mark as a standout student-athlete in cross country and indoor track, earning multiple All-American honors.

Today, that same creativity, drive, and Raider spirit are showing up in her career and passions. Based in Portland, Kayle works as Global Social Engagement Specialist for On, helping shape the social presence of an international athletic brand. Outside of work, she’s traded running shoes for mixing bowls as an aspiring baker competing in the Big Portland Bake Show and sharing her creations through her YouTube channel, Cooking with Kayle.

From the SOU track to the Portland kitchen, Kayle continues to bring her own blend of determination and creativity to everything she does. We love seeing where her Raider journey has taken her!❤️🖤

Meet Amy, a proud SOC/SOU graduate! During her time at Southern Oregon College, Amy co-founded the Ashland Women’s Health Center in 1972, which later grew into Rogue Community Health. She also sang in Concert Choir, performed in West Side Story, studied sociology and anatomy, and helped co-found SOC/SOU’s Gay Student Union. Her remarkable journey has taken her from Southern Oregon to the Middle East, where she experienced the 1973 war, and to teaching at Indiana University and Ohio State. Today, Amy remains a passionate advocate, educator, and lifelong member of the SOC/SOU community.

A Raider success story! ❤️🖤

Congratulations to SOU alum Nick Alexander, owner of Nick Alexander Films, on being named Best Small Business at the Chamber of Medford & Jackson County’s Excellence in Business Awards!

After graduating with dual degrees in EMDA and Spanish, Nick turned his passion for storytelling and creativity into a video production company serving Southern Oregon. During his acceptance speech, he recognized the professors and mentors who supported him along the way, including those at RCC and SOU, and shared appreciation for the programs that helped shape his journey.

We’re also excited to welcome Nick to the SOU Alumni Association Board, where he’ll bring his experience and continue to be involved with the community.

We love seeing Raiders doing great things right here in the Rogue Valley. Congratulations, Nick! ❤️🖤
