Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies (GSWS) at Southern Oregon University now offers a Major and Minor in GSWS and a Transgender Studies Certificate (the first of its kind in the US). Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies (GSWS) at Southern Oregon University is a dynamic and interdisciplinary program where students develop a critical perspective taking into account gender, sex, sexuality, race/
ethnicity, class, (dis)ability, and body size. GSWS integrates the fields of humanities, social sciences, and sciences, and emphasizes the relationship of classroom learning with social and personal awareness, and community involvement. In addition to providing general education courses, we offer a GSWS major and minor and Transgender Studies certificate, drawing on courses from departments and programs across the university including Art & Art History, Communication, Economics, English, Human Services, History, Psychology, Sociology and Anthropology.
