The Artistic Spoken Word with Amirah David. A Poetic Event

Rarely do we have opportunities to sit in awe and listen and learn from someone whose gifts and impact are truly unforgettable. Amirah David is such a one. Next Friday, August 14th at 10:30 a.m. Amirah will join us at Magna Deo for the Biblical Arts and Education in Ashland.

Amirah grew up in Ashland. Amirah is a licensed mental health therapist and writes poetry as a way to heal. Five years ago her life was transformed when she found God - or more precisely, when He found her, through her quest for truth, meaning and hope. Her search was sparked by the suffering she witnessed daily, both in her counseling practice and in the world around her. She has written two books of poetry and facilitates poetry/artists workshops and events. She will sharing her story and excerpts form her book of Poetic Apologetics - Taken by Grace.

She stirs the imagination and heart to sense that our experiences, sorrows and joys are connected to something far grander and wilder than we, perhaps, have yet imagined. 20th Annual Ascend Conference for Artists, Singers and Musicians

This pinnacle year on June (25), 26 & 27th features art and instruction from the multi-talented and phenomenal Chris Hopkins. Chris has been a part of Masterpiece Christian Fine Arts since 2006 and was our original “founding artist” at our first conference. Join us this 20th year again with Chris as he teaches “Sound Strategies and Techniques for Creating Great Art”.
Chris will be joined in the artistic track by Charity Hubbard who has also been a phenomenal asset to past ASCEND events. She founded and operates the only Art Renewal Center accredited art school in Oregon - Rogue Classical Atelier in Medford - very prestigious honor. She will instruct two workshops , “Fundamentals in Drawing” and “Mono Chromatic Portrait Painting” workshop.
The conference theme, “The Instrument” focuses on the vital role artists, musicians and singers and song illuminate in God’s plan and in culture. We're celebrating and commemorating the events of Easter week with an exhibit at Mountain Church in downtown Medford, Oregon,1 E Main St, starting tomorrow, Palm Sunday and continuing through Good Friday, April 18th. Sunday services are at 8:15 a.m., 10:00 and 11:45. Good Friday services are at 5:00 p.m. and at 6:30. So if you're in Southern Oregon we invite you to come and let your heart be encouraged, your heart moved in new ways, and refreshed in awe of this epic event in history, the story of Jesus, the lover of our soul, the rescuer of our lives, the hope of the world.
