Southern Oregon University Youth Programs Since 1981, SOU Youth Programs has offered day & overnight camps, academic competitions, after school programming and college credit opportunities.

SOU Pre-College Youth Programs is part of the Division of Outreach and Engagement, the self-support outreach arm of the University, and has a long-standing, positive relationship with many of the educational institutions and agencies in southern Oregon. The department began in 1980 directing programs for students in grades K-12. Funding is provided through grants, private donations, contract services and fees paid for program tuition. Program offerings include enrichment classes, academic competitions, summer residential camps, and high school credit programs.

Calling all high school students!

Are you passionate about making school better for students like you? Want to make a real difference before you even graduate high school?

Join the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission's Oregon Transfer Council as a high school student member! The Transfer Council helps improve how students move from high school to community college to university. We work to make that process smoother, fairer, and more student-friendly. And we need your voice at the table.

Why You Should Join:
- Speak up and be heard. You know what students really need. Help shape education policies that affect your future—and the futures of students across Oregon.
- Stand out on college and job applications. Get real experience in public service and education policy—something most students never do.
- Connect with leaders and changemakers. Meet educators, state officials, and students from all over Oregon. These are people who can help you learn, grow, and even open doors down the road.

Here's What to Expect:
- The Council meets once a month on zoom, so it’s easy to fit into your schedule.
- You’ll earn a $178 stipend for each meeting you attend.

With our overnight summer camps wrapped up (what a whirlwind!), we wanted to let folks know that we may still have your student's belongings!

Please let us know if anything is missing and we'll search our lost and found for the item. We have a number of water bottles and other items, and enough clothes to open a small store. 😅
