Quilter’s Physical Therapy, Day 1: “So…tell me again what happened?”
“Well, I was just going to finish ONE more block…” 🧵😂

Next thing you know, it’s 2:07 AM, your back has forgotten how chairs work, your knees have filed a formal complaint, and apparently standing upright is now a skill you have to relearn.

But did we finish the block? YES. YES, WE DID. 🙌😂

I had a great student named Betty Clark. She was so so fun, fun and energetic and prolific in her output. She had a great sense of color and I really miss her.

I’m sure a good number of my Boston students remember her. We had a lot of laughs together.

After she passed away, her sons gave me some of her things. I offered some Pieces that Betty had made and quilted with the intention of making them into pillow covers. My friend Deb Cline put them in her stash, and is now working with them.

Today, she made a cover for a small rectangular pillow. She got it done in one class. There’s an invisible zipper in one of the short ends. This picture shows you her with a pillow and one of the remaining two panels that she can use for a table runner or a pillow cover or whatever she wants.

Zoe started Sewing with me when she was in middle school and stayed with me until she graduated high school. She went to FIT in New York and has done an amazingly well for herself.

Bob Mackie brought an unmistakable sense of joy, glamour, and imagination to everything he designed. His extraordinary costumes, intricate embellishment, and fearless approach to construction showcased both remarkable technical skill and artistry. We’re saddened to hear of his passing and grateful for everything he contributed to fashion and costume design.
