We want to give a huge thank you to the Ashland County Fair for inviting our preschool out for a field trip on September 24th! It was the perfect morning for some outdoor learning, fresh air and the perfect intro to our October theme of "farm animals". 🧡

One of the best weeks of the year! Fair week. 🤩

Some may say that despite the rain, this is some of the best fair weather!! If you’re there this week, be sure to checkout out our fair board and the children’s adorable hand prints. ☺️

✨Did You Know?✨

The Montessori curriculum introduces materials in a specific progression, moving from concrete concepts with maximum physical support to more abstract concepts with less support:

🔸Knobbed Cylinders: The child uses blocks of wood with inset cylinders. The physical blocks provide a "control of error" because a cylinder will only fit perfectly into its matching hole. This isolates the concept of dimension while offering a clear mechanical boundary.

🔸The Pink Tower: Once the child masters the cylinders, they move to the Pink Tower, which varies in three dimensions (height, width, and depth). There are no longer any guiding holes; the child must rely entirely on visual discrimination to stack the cubes.

🔸The Broad Stairs (Brown Stairs): This material is introduced right after the Pink Tower. It consists of prisms that maintain a constant length but vary in two dimensions (width and height), isolating the concept of thickness.

What an incredible year it was!

🌟 Yesterday we celebrated the last day of school and all the learning, friendships and memories we’ve made together. We are so proud of how much our students have grown this year!

On May 5th the children released their butterflies that had started as larvae just weeks before! Seeing the excitement in the children as each larvae transformed to a chrysalis and into a beautiful butterfly is priceless each year! Thank you Mrs. See, Mrs. Emmons and Mrs. Pence.
