Parents as Teachers is partnering with Kids Sight and University Missouri Speech and Language to provide Vision and Hearing Screenings on April 15th from 5:00-6:30 PM.

Please use the Sign up Genius link to sign up. Please select one slot for each child.

We recommend that your child is screened once a school year.

This event is only for children enrolled in Parents as Teachers. If you have concerns about your older child's hearing or vision please contact their school nurse.

A great way to learn about Digital Safety!

📱🔒 Digital Safety Night 🔒📱

Parents, grandparents, guardians and community members are invited to attend Digital Safety Night on Monday, March 9th at 6PM in the Southern Boone Middle School cafeteria. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Cyber Crimes Division will share important information and topics related to student online safety.

This free event is designed to help families better understand the digital world our students are navigating every day. Please note: this event is for individuals 18 and older.

🎒✨ Preschool Applications Now Open! ✨🎒

Do you have a child who will be 4 years old before August 1, 2026? They may be eligible to apply for our preschool program for the 2026–2027 school year!

📥 Application deadline: February 27, 2026

Applications can be picked up at the Primary School Office, the Central Office, or downloaded online. Completed applications may be mailed or dropped off at the Primary School office.

Please note:
✔️ Students who are age-eligible for kindergarten are not eligible for preschool.
✔️ A limited number of students will be selected for the program.

There has been a schedule change for this month's group event. Our event will now be on January 29th at Southern Boone Area YMCA in the Turf Room.

Just a reminder all families living in Southern Boone School District with children under the age of 5 (not yet in kindergarten) are welcome to attend! Older siblings are also welcome.

First Chance for Children is hosting a Diaper Drop In event this Monday, Dec 15 from 9am-6pm at 1002 Fay St, Columbia. This is an additional opportunity for families to receive two packages of diapers per child in their household. Please park and come into the building to pick up your diapers.
