The Hugo Young Theatre got some upgrades over the summer:
• a new floor including updated floor pockets for audio & video
• maintenance to the rigging over the stage (thanks to Dave Steinmetz for getting this on the to do list)
• LED lighting instruments

The floor demo started in May, the rigging work was done and the floor finished in June, the wiring for the floor pockets was completed in July, and the LED lights are just about all up and wired.

This was made possible by a grant from the state of Ohio. Thank you to State Representative Melanie Miller.

Thank you to AU electricians and carpenters for the wiring work, pipe rack and moving the c*c, curtains, ladders, and so much more to clear the space before the work in May and restore it all in August to get ready for the school year.

A HUGE thank you to Seth Morrison, ’18, for his work on this project as consultant, electrician, designing & hanging the rep plot, and programing the board with “looks” that can be used for band concerts, meetings, etc.

Megan Harvey, ’18, was on campus as the banquet speaker in April and asked for a piece of the old floor. Yes – some pieces were saved.

If you are in the neighborhood, stop in, take a look and see a show.
