Now, I have to make a post for our staff! They have worked so hard all summer doing numerous trainings, learning new research, cleaning the building, planning the students’ meal menus, training to drive and monitor children on the buses, setting up and fixing our technology, tending to maintenance needs, preparing for days on end to ensure classrooms are set up just right, decorating doors and hallways, assisting families with OLR and health documents, preparing lesson plans that will make learning magical and fun for each child, pitching in and giving time to support and encourage each other whenever needed, and so much more that I can’t even begin to list it all, JUST BECAUSE THEY CARE AND WANT TO HELP CHILDREN!🥹❤️

Thank you isn’t near enough, but to all of our ECA and BCPS staff that had a part in preparing our program for the 2026-27 school year, I want to publicly thank each of you from the bottom of my heart for all of the unseen work you have done this summer!!! You truly are difference makers and I’m so thankful you’re on our team!!! Wishing everyone a good night’s rest and a marvelous first day with students in the building! 🦁🐾❤️ 👇🏻

Please take a moment to watch our video explaining the AM drop-off procedures. This video was created in 2023, when Cannonsburg Elementary was located with us, but the procedures remain the same, with one update: We now have three traffic lanes instead of two.😃

To help us keep every child, family, and staff member safe, please follow these important guidelines:😃

**AM Drop-Off**
* Please drive no faster than 10 mph in our parking lot.
* Please refrain from using cell phones while driving through the parking lot as we have had children and staff almost hit due to this in the past.
* When you stop at a crosswalk for a staff member to assist your child, please place your vehicle in park. This extra safety step helps prevent accidental vehicle movement while children and staff are nearby.

**PM Parent Pick-Up**
* Please drive no faster than 10 mph in our parking lot.😃
*TO BE ABLE TO PICK UP A CHILD FROM ECA, YOUR NAME MUST BE ON THE EMERGENCY CARD. FOR OBVIOUS SAFETY PROTOCOL, WE ARE NOT ABLE TO RELEASE A CHILD TO SOMEONE NOT ON THE EMERGENCY CARD! PLEASE ADD EVERYONE THAT MIGHT POSSIBLY NEED TO PICK YOUR CHILD UP THROUGHOUT THE YEAR IF YOUR USUAL CONTACTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. 😃
*ANY PERSON PICKING UP A STUDENT MUST HAVE THEIR PHOTO ID READY TO SHOW STAFF. Please share this with everyone listed on your child’s emergency card so they know in advance.😃
* We will use all three traffic lanes for afternoon pick-up as well.😃
* Please use the designated crosswalks at all times.😃
* The first three crosswalks will pick up at a time. Once safely parked, adults should turn off their vehicles and walk to the traffic cones located on the sidewalk near the 100- and 200-wing doors. Your child’s teacher or staff outside on pick-up duty can let you know which hallway your child is in if you don’t already know.😃
* For everyone’s safety, please never walk between vehicles.😃
* If you have a baby or very young child with you, are injured, or have difficulty walking longer distances, please let one of the staff members calling names know and we will be happy to bring your child safely to your vehicle.😃
