Riverwood House is a creative and nature rich indoor/outdoor environment for children ages 4-12 and adults, including creative workshops and donation based yoga classes. The instructor has a MAT in teaching with AMS Montessori training in Early Childhood, and a BFA in painting and drawing. Currently, elizabeth seiters has completed the Introductory to Forest Education and the Teacher certification
from Forest School Teacher Institute with Dr. Jean Lomino in Chattanooga TN and will participate in the Director course and Leader course starting in late January 2021. Over time, Riverwood House has transformed into maintaining elements of Montessori while incorporating Reggio Emilia [art and community based projects] and nature focus. Baking, gardening, raising chickens, painting, clay work, collaging, and yoga are some of the main activities! Currently, Riverwood House is only offering OUTINGS for January 12-June 24, 2021 [winter/spring/early summer] at Bells Bend Park. This program is an all outdoors creative and nature based program for ages 4-6 years old. Tuesdays [ages 4-6], 8:45 am-1:15 pm; Thursdays [ages 4-6], 8:45 am-1:15 pm. This is a drop off program where carpooling is encouraged. The teacher/child ratio is 1-2:6 for each group. Families must commit to the whole program. There is a $25 registration fee per family; materials fee $150 [partnership with Turnip Green Creative Reuse materials and teaching artists]; Tuesdays, $121/monthly and Thursdays, $121/monthly, with payment options.
