Cheatham County 4-H hopes to see you this Friday, September 4th for the annual 4-H Chick Chain show & sale!
Our hardworking 4-H members have spent the summer raising their Black Star and New Hampshire Red pullets, and they can’t wait to show off their projects!

Show: 5:00 PM
Sale: Immediately following the show, around 5:30 PM

Bring a chair and come out to support our talented 4-H youth, celebrate all their hard work, and bid for a chance to take home some quality laying hens of your own!

The show and auction is open to the public and is a great way to support local youth in agriculture while also taking home some great birds. Please contact the Cheatham County Extension Office at 615-792-4420 with questions.

We are so proud of Alma…. She learned about the chamber through Youth Leadership and has begun a fabulous internship! Alma will succeed in all she does.

We have some exciting news to share!

We are so happy and grateful to welcome our new intern, Alma Pita, to the team. There's something special about bringing in young people who are passionate about agriculture and community, and Alma is exactly that. We can't wait to watch her grow, learn, and share her love for horses and farming with us.

Meet Alma!

"My name is Alma. I live on a little farm in Ashland City. My favorite hobbies are riding horses, volunteering, and watching Premier League Soccer. I plan to attend MTSU and major in Agribusiness and ride on the equestrian team. I am so excited for my internship journey. I can't wait to see who I'll meet, what I'll learn, and the opportunities this experience affords me."

After weeks of hard work and practice we had a great turn out at the Central Region Consumer Decision Making Contest. Congratulations to all who participated.

Sara Bailey placed 6th in the Junior division.
Levi, Sara, Ayla, and Savannah took home 4th place medals as a team!

It is this time of year again!!!!!

It's that time of year again! As to***co farmers begin harvesting their dark-fired to***co crops, it is common to see whiteish-blue smoke coming from the barns. For over a century, farmers in our area have been growing, harvesting, and curing to***co, a process that requires subjecting to***co leaves to smoke from a smoldering wood fire. If you see smoke rising out of a barn, it’s just a farmer getting their harvest ready. Once flames are spotted, please call 911.
