This is the Preschool Environment at Watermark Church in Ashford, AL. Sundays 9 & 10:30

Our purpose is to connect kids ages birth-5 years to their Creator by teaching Biblical truths of how God made me, God loves me & Jesus wants to be my friend forever!

This week we celebrated Hooray Day, a special day where we celebrate God! This Hooray Day was a big celebration because we learned that David understood that God knew everything about him. God even knew the words David would speak. God knows everything about us too! God leads us to know Him because He loves us. At mealtimes this week, talk about the different things that make members of your family special. Remind family members that God knows everything about them.

Take time today to pray as a family—talk and listen to God. Pray these four things:

1. Thank God that He wants us to love like Jesus.
2. Ask God to help you love others like Jesus.
3. Pray for those for whom it may be hard to show Jesus’ love. Pray that you can share His love with them.
4. Choose one or two other people to pray for—that they can love others like Jesus would.

Take 1 day this week to highlight these 2 things and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Show your preschoolers a tape measure and ask, “When have you used or watched a tape measure being used?” Tell your preschoolers that when they see a tape measure, they can remember that God’s love is so big it cannot be measured! They can know that God has a plan for their lives, and part of His plan is to love others like Jesus.

Preschoolers learned that Jesus wanted everyone to know that loving others, even when it is hard, makes us more like God. When we love everyone, people can see God’s love shining through us. We can love like Jesus and know God has a plan for us. As you are out and about this week, talk about times when it is hard to love others and times when it is easier to love others. Help your preschoolers see that they can love like Jesus, even when it is hard.

Gather some paper and pencils. Pair family members together. One will be the “artist,” and the other will be the “guide.” The artist will close her eyes and try to draw a simple shape (like a circle or house) based only on the guide’s verbal instructions. Talk about how the artist has to trust the guide to tell her what to do.

Take 1 day this week to highlight these 2 things and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Show your preschooler a raincoat or an image of a raincoat. Ask your child if he likes wearing a raincoat when it rains. Say, “The raincoat protects you from getting wet! You can trust that the raincoat will keep you dry when it is wet outside. A raincoat reminds us that we can trust like Jesus.”

This week we taught preschoolers that they can trust like Jesus. In our Bible story, Jesus told the people, “Don’t worry! God knows everything you need.” We can trust Jesus and know God has a plan for us. We can follow our leader, Jesus, and live like Him. Trust is believing that God will take care of you and do what He says He will do. We can trust Jesus and know God has a plan for us. Talk with your family this week about times when you need to trust God.

“Let your light shine before others.” (Matthew 5:16a)
When you let your light shine before others, you are living out God’s plan for your life. You can let your light shine by living like Jesus, serving like Jesus, trusting like Jesus, and loving like Jesus. How can you let your light shine before others this week?

Take 1 day this week to highlight these 2 things and spend 3 minutes talking about them: Ask, “What are things you like to cook when you play with a kitchen playset?” Then talk to your preschoolers and explain that with a kitchen playset, they can serve their friends and family drinks and snacks. When they see a kitchen playset, they can remember that God has a plan for them, and they can serve others like Jesus.

Preschoolers learned this week that they can serve like Jesus. In our Bible story, Jesus warned people not to let money or things take first place in their lives. “You can’t serve both God and money,” He said. Jesus taught that to live as part of God’s family meant serving others, choosing kindness, and loving God more than everything else. Jesus’ words help people love and serve like Him. God has a plan for us, and we can follow our leader, Jesus, and live like Him. Take time this week to pray with your preschoolers for opportunities to serve like Jesus.
