One for the books! š
Thank you, BrBrandon PriesterLand of Sky, and the Asheville High School/SILSA CTE team for helping make the Keys to Success Career and Job Fair such an amazing event!
We welcomed over 40 vendors and career partners who generously gave their time to meet students, take applications, and share opportunities for summer jobs and internships. More than 1,100 students came through, and many may soon begin exciting new job adventures!
Itās all about career exploration and helping students see what is available to them. Thank you to Principal Edwards and our teachers for supporting this effort!

Another work-based learning opportunity! The Tuskegee NEXT aviation program, held in Knoxville, gave more than 150 participants the opportunity to experience flight firsthand. With over 30 planes available, students were able to soar through the skies alongside cadets from Tuskegee NEXT who have gone on to careers in engineering, piloting, drone aviation, and other aviation-related fields.
This was an exceptional experience for Asheville City Schools students, many of whom were flying for the very first time. A special thank you to Tuskegee NEXT for inspiring students and demonstrating that endless possibilities exist when we open our minds and create opportunities for exploration

Tuskeegee NEXT!!!!!!!!!!
When I say Iām obsessed, Iām totally obsessed!
Story time⦠My childhood friend of over 50 years, Tanya Davis, her husband Stephen L. Davis, and their family have created an amazing program called Tuskegee NEXT. This incredible aviation program provides flight training opportunities for young adults ages 18ā24, and upon completion, students can earn their pilotās license through a $35,000 scholarship provided by Tuskegee NEXT!
Today, students from Asheville High School and SILSA attended the program in Knoxville. The students had the opportunity to fly planes alongside Tuskegee NEXT cadets and pilots. They also learned about drone pilot licensing, participated in flight simulations, and heard inspiring stories from cadets pursuing careers in engineering and aviation ā fields where continuing education can be extremely expensive.
What was amazing to witness was seeing students who were once afraid to fly take off and land with a whole new level of confidence, leaving with a truly life-changing experience.
Tanya and Steve, thank you for this incredible opportunity! As long as Iāve known you, you have always been game changers. Today, you flipped the switch in these young peopleās minds and opened their eyes to limitless possibilities
Shout out to Pamela Norment Washington the chaperone with the most! Tanya Davis Stephen L. Davis Tuskegee NEXT for opening up your doors for students to see what is NEXT
By the way each student took a successful flight!āļø
