The official page of the Academy for the Arts (AFTA). We offer classical and traditional instruction in music and the arts in Asheville, NC.
The Academy for the Arts offers private and group lessons on all major instruments in for classical and traditional music. There are also opportunities for chamber ensembles. We celebrate a high standard of excellence within our teaching staff. Our instructors are from the Asheville area and hold at least one degree from an accredited college/university, or have equitable expertise in their genre.

Mark your calendars! Our Faculty Recitals are a month away. All recitals are free and will take place in Crouch Chapel at First Baptist Church of Asheville. If you would like to make a donation it will benefit our student scholarship fund!
Make sure to join us for our faculty recitals June 12 and 19th at 6pm! We have some wonderfully talented faculty members who are sure to put on a great show!

The biggest congratulations to everyone who performed at AFTA's spring recitals on May 18th, 19th, and 21st! This was one of our most successful recital seasons so far!

Hightop Mountain Harmony is a great band that takes lessons at the Academy for the Arts with our instructors Nick Dauphinais, Lyndsay Pruett, and Brad Curtioff!
The Sanctuary at First Baptist Church of Asheville is a fantastic place to sing, come catch them at some of their upcoming shows in WNC and the upstate of SC.

On May 11th, our Bluegrass Jam Class performed at Ginger's Revenge! This class meets weekly to learn new tunes and is led by Nick Dauphinais. Bravo to everyone involved!
