ABC’s Good Morning America Returns to Asheville for Special Broadcast

Nearly one year after Hurricane Helene swept through Western North Carolina as a tropical storm, Good Morning America will return to Asheville for a special edition celebrating the region’s resilience and beauty.

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, GMA correspondent Janai Norman will report live from Biltmore Estate from 7–9 a.m. as part of the morning show’s “50 States in 50 Weeks: America the Beautiful” series. The program will spotlight local changemakers, share powerful community stories, and showcase the culture, history, and landmarks that make North Carolina unique.

Norman noted that the series aims to celebrate diversity while highlighting the values that bring people together. The Asheville broadcast will go a step further, honoring the enduring spirit of the community across WNC in the wake of Helene.
