Who wants to get weird? 🔥 👹👻
Experience the drama, amazement, and instant gratification of Raku in this one-day firing workshop. Bring up to 6 bisque fired pieces (vertically oriented vase and cylinder forms up to 12 inches in height preferred). We will glaze the pieces using a variety of crackle, iridescent luster, and matte glazes and fire the work outdoors in our brand new Laguna Raku kiln. Pieces will be removed from the red-hot kiln and quickly transferred into trash cans filled with sawdust for the reduction process to occur. Participants will go home the same day with dramatically transformed, finished work (and hopefully both eyebrows)!

Did you know we offer one-on-one pottery lessons Saturdays & Sundays 11am - 3pm? Walk-ins are welcome, schedule permitting!
Here’s the deal: You come in, make a few pots, have some fun, and we will take it from there. Have something specific you want to make, or want to try hand building out? Let us know ahead of time when you book online! We will guide your beautiful creation through the multistep process of firing and glazing, then notify you when your work is complete and ready for pickup / shipping. The process takes 3-5 weeks to finish to ensure nothing blows up in the kiln, but we will get work sent out to you asap!

Find out more & book by heading to our website, link in bio!

If interested in booking a lesson for more than 4 individuals? Please email the office at [email protected]

Registration is OPEN for our 8 week Fall session! There is something for everyone here at Odyssey, we offer classes for all skill levels and interests. Choose from beginner wheel throwing classes, surface design, handbuilding, sculpture, and more!
The dream team Tony Prince and Shayna Grossberg are leading a deep dive into sculpting the human face. To understand this familiar yet complex form, Tony and Shayna will begin by studying the underlying anatomy. Several clay handbuilding techniques will be demonstrated, as we move from a technical foundation, to observing nuances of expression and emotion in our subjects. Half of the time, we'll be working from photos, reference materials, and mirrors. The other half will be spent working directly from a live (clothed) model. This class is open to all levels, but some prior clay experience is helpful. This class is ideal for season beginners and intermediate / advanced levels.
