Everyone with ADHD needs a cheerleader. I'm so happy to be my high school clients' source of unconditional acceptance and encouragement! My client, "A," is learning how to align her actions with her desired identity.

The power of questions. When you see your teen or college student delay a non-preferred yet important task, it’s hard to resist nagging. But we ADHD’ers rarely respond to pressure when the source of our procrastination is performance anxiety, uncertainty about how to start, or executive dysfunction. We may not even know why we delay these tasks, despite knowing how the delay may hurt us. Replacing a nagging question with a curious or supportive one will get you further every time!
My upcoming talk may change the way you see your teen. Join me April 23 at 8pm EST for a free webinar, "How to Ignite Your Teen's Motivation," hosted by Sora Schools. Register here: https://soraschools.com/talks/how-to-ignite-motivation

When Jennifer A. came to me for parent coaching, she couldn't get her 11 year old son to take a shower without melting down. Folks with ADHD are more sensitive to transitions and changes in sensory input. After one coaching session in which we collaborated on a few strategies, she texted me: "It actually WORKED!" Her son now takes a shower independently, a great relief to his busy mom. I love collaborating with parents to make their kids' and their lives easier and more joyful!
