As a kid who could never remember which uniform to pack for away games, it’s important to me to help my daughter build these skills early. (And if I’m being honest… I’m a little tired of packing her swim bag every week 😅.) Visuals are such a simple, effective way to support independence, so I’m hoping this checklist is just what my 3.5-year-old needs.

Helping my sister with her mahjong fundraiser… and you know there’s going to be some visual aids if I’m involved. 🙃

January Photo Dump
1.) Camel sighting in West Texas (this is 2 camels, not a 6-legged AI camel).
2.) Learned pickleball. Currently making it my entire personality.
3-4.) Watched my childhood best friend get married. 🥲
5.) Hosted a few mahjong lessons.
6.) New mahjong tiles 🤩
7-8.) Winter library days and winter picnics
9.) Watched 11-year-old Zeke scale a 5 foot climbing wall to be included in fort building.

After probably 10 episodes of Super Kitties, I decided a visual menu of sick day activities was much needed! I feel like this helps both my daughter and me with decision fatigue (and, obvs, gets a break from Buddy and Bitsy — 😮💨 IYKYK). When in doubt, pull the visuals out. 🙃

One of our favorite ways to reuse old artwork. Letting my daughter use letter stickers just adds a ✨little extra✨ personal touch. 😍
