Friday, Woodfin Elementary School had the honor of welcoming back our former wolverines that are now graduating from Erwin High School! Witnessing these seniors walk the halls of their elementary school and return to the place where so many of their learning journeys began was a special moment for all!
The seniors loved revisiting their elementary school campus, reconnecting with former teachers, and remembering the memories they made at Woodfin years ago.
Seeing these graduates walk the halls in their caps and gowns also meant so much to our current Woodfin wolverines. Friday's senior walk was inspiring and exciting for everyone ; a powerful reminder that with hard work and determination, you can achieve your goals!
We are so proud of these Erwin High graduates and wish them all the best in the exciting journey ahead!

During National Police Week, Woodfin Elementary School wants to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible police officers who serve and protect our community each and every day; especially our amazing Woodfin Police Department!
The care, dedication, and support that the Woodfin Police Department show to our students mean more than words can express. From helping keep our campus safe, to building positive relationships with students, to stepping in with kindness, encouragement, and guidance when needed they make a lasting impact on our school family every single day.
Our students look up to the Woodfin Police officers as helpers, protectors, mentors, and role models. We would be remiss not to give an extra special thank you to Officer Holden, our Woodfin Elementary School SRO! Whether she is greeting students in the morning, supporting during school events, helping teach safety lessons, or simply taking the time to connect with children, her presence brings comfort and care to our school.
To all of the officers at the Woodfin Police Department, thank you for the sacrifices you make and the countless ways you support our students, staff, and whole community. Woodfin Elementary School is deeply grateful for you ; and especially thankful for the positive difference Officer Holden makes every day.

"At a school still carrying the aftershocks of disaster, teachers have chosen not to lower expectations. Instead, they tightened systems, deepened relationships, and expanded support.
The result is visible in classrooms, where young readers are sounding out words with confidence and where educators believe catching students up is not only possible, but already happening."
