Join us this fall for our Parent-Child program—a gentle introduction to Waldorf early childhood education for young children and their caregivers.

Together, families enjoy a warm and nurturing rhythm of seasonal songs, creative play, simple activities, time outdoors, and meaningful connection with one another.

AWS's Steiner Study Group meets on the second Tuesdays of each month from 3:30-4:45pm on campus. Each group begins with an artistic or therapeutic activity followed by study of the book Working with Nervous, Anxious, and Depressed Children: A Spiritual Perspective. Our first meeting of the school year will be this Tuesday, September 8th!

We began another school year together with one of our most beloved traditions: the Rose Ceremony.

Each year, our eighth graders welcome the first graders into the grades by offering them a rose—a beautiful moment connecting those who are just beginning their journey with those entering their final year at AWS.

There is something especially sweet about gathering again after summer: familiar faces returning, new faces joining us, classrooms coming back to life, and another year of learning and growing together beginning. ❤️

Join us Friday mornings from 8:30–10am in the Strings Classroom for a gentle hour of handwork, conversation, and community, guided by our own Sara Sanders.

Bring a project of your own, or join in creating simple treasures together that will bless our school and future festivals. No experience is needed—just willing hands and a desire to gather in community.

Parent Crafting Circle meets each Friday except the first Friday of the month, which is reserved for Family Friday and AWSNAP meetings.

WE’RE BACK!

The halls are full, the classrooms are buzzing, and another beautiful year at Asheville Waldorf School is underway.

There’s nothing quite like the energy of coming back together—old friends reuniting, new friendships beginning, teachers welcoming their classes, and everyone settling into the rhythm of a new school year.

We’re so happy to have our students back on campus and can’t wait to see what this year brings.

We’re officially back, and we’d love to gather our families together to welcome in a new school year!

Join us this afternoon (Friday, 8/28) at 4:00pm in Fairview for a relaxed afternoon of reconnecting, conversation, and community.

Turgua is a beautiful, laid-back spot right along Cane Creek, with plenty of outdoor space to gather, relax, and let the kids be part of the fun. They often have food trucks and community events as well.

Bring a snack, grab a drink, and come as you are. Let's take a little time to slow down, reconnect, and celebrate the beginning of another year together.

If you can make it, we hope to see you there! And if today doesn't work for your family, don't worry—there will be many more opportunities to gather throughout the year.

Join us this Saturday, August 22 from 9:00am – 12:00pm for our Asheville Waldorf School Work Day!

Come help us prepare and beautify our school, classrooms, and playground as we get ready to welcome everyone back for the new school year. Whether you can lend a hand for an hour or stay the whole morning, we would love to have you!

If you have them, please bring:
🌻 Your water bottle
🌻 Work or gardening gloves
🌻 Plants and Pots
🌻 Drills
🌻 Extension cords
🌻 Shovels
🌻 Any other supplies/tools you think may be helpful

Let’s have some fun together and get our school looking beautiful for Opening Day next Wednesday!

This is also such a wonderful opportunity to model service and care for our children—showing them what it means to take care of our home, our school, the Earth, and one another.
