This was never just a building.
For 35 years, children walked through these doors with tiny backpacks, excited smiles, and endless curiosity. They learned to pour their own water, put on their own coats, solve problems, make friends, care for their community, and discover who they were becoming.
Today we close the door one last time at our West Campus.
As we end this chapter, our hearts are full of gratitude.
To every family who trusted us with the most important people in your lives, thank you.
To the teachers who poured themselves into these classrooms over the last three and a half decades, thank you.
To the Malvern Hills community, thank you for sharing your sidewalks, the park and greenways where we wandered, and for the kindness of welcoming a group of soggy children and teachers onto your porches when afternoon rainstorms caught us by surprise.
While we’re saying goodbye to this building, we’re not saying goodbye to our community. MLC is simply just down the road. One campus, one big family. A new era but the same big heart.
While we are saying goodbye to 1 School Rd, we’re so excited that Food Connection , our longtime neighbors upstairs, will soon call this space home. It’s fitting that a building dedicated to nurturing children will continue that path but by nurturing the community. From one community helper to another, we’re grateful to pass the torch and can’t wait to see all they’ll accomplish here.
The classrooms may be empty today, and the sign may have come down, but the memories never will.
Thank you, West Campus.
