PHILADELPHIA, PA: Meet Rain (ACCT-A-170567)!

⏰ EXTENDED UNTIL MONDAY, 9/28 at 10AM ⏰

💰 $2,500 IN PLEDGES!

HAIL MARY FOR RAIN! ACCT gave him one extension, and now we need the whole community to pull out all the stops for this boy.

Rain is at risk due to his length of stay and lack of shelter space. He needs CONFIRMED PLACEMENT WITH AN ADOPTER OR RESCUE PARTNER by Monday at 10AM.

✨ ABOUT RAIN:
• Happy, loving and incredibly affectionate
• Calm kisser and hugger
• Loves people, pets and attention
• Loves sniffing, exploring and playing outside
• Tennis balls, sprinklers and the pool are favorites
• Treat motivated and knows sit
• Recent notes describe him as well behaved and good on leash
• Needs an adult-only home or children 12+

🐾 DOG NOTES: Rain has shown some good dog interactions but can also be selective/reactive, so introductions need to be thoughtful and appropriately managed.

Rain has been improving during his shelter stay. Recent volunteers describe a sweet, exuberant boy who enjoys affection and has gone several outings without the previously noted leash biting.

This extension is Rain’s chance. He needs someone to actually come for him.

PHILADELPHIA, PA: Meet Tetsuo (ACCT-A-261959)!

⏰ TIMESTAMPED FOR WEDNESDAY, 9/23 at 10AM ⏰

Tetsuo has been RE-ADDED to the timestamp list after the foster for his rescue placement backed out. The rescue had to drop its tag, leaving Tetsuo urgently needing another way out.

Because of medical concerns, Tetsuo must have CONFIRMED PLACEMENT WITH A RESCUE PARTNER.

The Polished Pitbull is willing to pull Tetsuo if a foster can be found!

🔗 The Polished Pitbull:

If you can foster through an approved rescue partner, email [email protected]. Include your experience and contact information, explain that you would like to foster through a rescue, and ask that your information be forwarded to a rescue seeking a foster for Tetsuo.

SALISBURY, NC: Meet Billy (A151608)!

🚨 LAST CALL — TOMORROW IS BILLY’S LAST DAY 🚨

Billy is a handsome, almost 2-year-old, 60 lb Pit mix who desperately needs someone to come meet him tomorrow and give him the forever home he deserves.

Billy came into the shelter as a stray with a wound on his stomach approximately 2 inches in diameter. The wound has been treated and he has received pain medication. Despite it, Billy has continued jumping, playing and acting like a happy young dog.

✨ ABOUT BILLY:
• Almost 2 years old
• Male | 60 lbs | Pit mix
• Heartworm negative
• Playful and active
• Ready for a family of his own

🩺 MEDICAL ADOPTION:
Billy’s stomach wound has been treated at the shelter, but his adopter will need to take him to a veterinarian for follow-up care and evaluation.

Billy has made it this far. Now he needs someone willing to walk into the shelter tomorrow and make sure it isn’t his last day.

📍 Rowan County Animal Shelter

PHILADELPHIA, PA: Meet Chapo!

⏰ EXTENDED UNTIL WEDNESDAY, 9/16 at 10AM ⏰

HAIL MARY FOR CHAPO!

Chapo’s timestamp expired and not a single person asked about him. He was given an extension until Wednesday at 10AM, and he’s sleeping peacefully with no idea just how desperately he needs someone to come for him.

✨ ABOUT CHAPO:
• 90 lb gentle giant
• Incredibly gentle and affectionate
• Happy, loving and people friendly
• Walks slowly and nicely on leash
• Loves rubbing against his human friends for affection
• Loves playing in the ACCT pool
• Calm, kind spirit despite his impressive size

Don’t let 90 lbs fool you. Chapo isn’t dragging anyone down the street looking for his next adventure. He is a VERY slow walker who would much rather take his time and enjoy being with his people.

What stands out most about Chapo is simply how gentle he is. He’s a big, beautiful boy with an incredibly kind spirit who deserves the chance to walk out of ACCT with a family of his own.

Please watch his video and SHARE CHAPO EVERYWHERE. He received an extension, but that only matters if someone sees him in time.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN: Meet Jeremy (A368155)!

⏰ DEADLINE MONDAY, 9/21 at 5PM ⏰

Jeremy is only 2 years old and urgently needs placement due to becoming increasingly stressed and difficult to handle in the shelter.

He is available for RESCUE, FOSTER OR ADOPTION and must have placement by 5PM Monday, September 21.

✨ ABOUT JEREMY:
• 2 years old | Neutered male | 56 lbs
• Tri-colored Pitbull
• Heartworm negative
• Experienced with dogs
• Previously lived successfully with children from toddlers through teens
• NO cats or small animals due to high prey drive

Jeremy’s previous owner reported that he does well with other dogs and children. Unfortunately, the shelter environment is taking its toll on him.

Jeremy is becoming increasingly stressed, jumpy and mouthy.M. What he desperately needs now is an appropriate home where he can decompress away from the stress of the shelter.

At just 2 years old, Jeremy has his whole life ahead of him. Please help us get him out before his deadline.

🐾 HELP US HELP THIS DOG ❤🐾

PHILADELPHIA, PA: Meet Goku (ACCT-A-257887)!

⏰ TIMESTAMPED FOR WEDNESDAY, 9/16 at 10AM ⏰

Goku is urgent due to behavioral concerns and needs CONFIRMED PLACEMENT WITH AN EXPERIENCED ADOPTER OR RESCUE PARTNER by Wednesday at 10AM. ACCT is significantly overcapacity, and extensions are unlikely.

✨ ABOUT GOKU:
• Young, silly, affectionate cuddle bug
• Loves pets, laps, balls, toys & treats
• Smart and food motivated
• Knows sit, down & wait
• Playful, energetic and people-oriented
• Has participated in dog playgroups and had multiple good greetings
• Mostly housebroken in his previous home

Goku is a BIG personality who loves being with his people. Staff describe him as loose, wiggly and affectionate, leaning into pets and even “pretzeling” for butt scratches.

🐾 WHAT GOKU NEEDS:
Goku can become jumpy and mouthy when excited or overstimulated and needs an experienced adult home willing to work with a trainer and provide structure, exercise and enrichment. He has shown positive interactions and play with other dogs but can become intense during play, so dog introductions should be slow, thoughtful and supervised.

This goofy, affectionate boy has so much potential. He needs someone willing to give him the structure and consistency he needs to succeed outside of the shelter.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN: Meet Tucker!

⏰ DEADLINE MONDAY, 9/14 at 5PM ⏰

💰 $635 IN PLEDGES

Tucker has spent more than 130 days in the shelter and keeps getting overlooked. Now increasing shelter stress and weight loss have put him at risk. He needs placement by 5PM Monday, September 14.

Tucker is available for RESCUE, FOSTER OR ADOPTION.

✨ ABOUT TUCKER:
• 5 years old | Neutered male | 58 lbs
• Heartworm negative
• Calm, polite and well behaved
• Fantastic leash walker and car passenger
• Responds to his name and sits for treats
• Loves squeaky toys and leisurely walks
• Showed healthy curiosity toward dogs in public
• Enjoyed his day out without showing signs of stress
• Likely best with older children

Tucker has been at IACS since April and has been losing weight despite receiving extra food. The shelter believes what he really needs is a less stressful environment and some TLC.

Tucker was originally surrendered after a reported bite to his owner, but the shelter was unable to obtain details about what occurred. His experience living with dogs, cats and children is unknown.

After more than four months of waiting, this sweet guy deserves the chance to decompress outside the shelter and show someone what a wonderful companion he can be.
