Every other week, some of our 3s, 4s, and 5s gather with one of the pastors of First Presbyterian Church, where our center is housed. Together, they talk and wonder about a Bible story, sing a song, and share life.

At our center, we go beyond child care by providing an on-site Behavior Specialist to support children's social and emotional growth. Our dedicated Behavior Specialist, Ms. Ella, helps children overcome challenges, strengthens classrooms, and ensures every child has the support they need to reach their full potential.

We asked her a few questions about her work…

Q: What's your favorite part of your job?
A: One of my favorite parts of this role is having the opportunity to visit each classroom and build meaningful connections with every child. I fell in love with teaching over 20 years ago, and now I feel so lucky to have a whole school of children to spend my days with.

Q: What's one thing you want parents to know?
A: You are doing great, AND it takes a village to raise a child. It isn’t always easy, but I believe that when families and educators work together, we can provide children with the support they need to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.

Q: What's your superpower?
A: Staying calm and kind when emotions get high. Little children can experience some big feelings, yet they still need a calm and grounded grownup to help regulate their nervous systems back to calm.

Q: Why do you love working with children?
A: I love the wonder children hold for the world around them. Seeing their fascination with discovering a worm after a rainstorm or the gentle hug a peer gives another when they are upset fills me with pure joy. Helping them learn and show compassion to others gives me hope for a beautiful future.

Our Kitchen Manager, Chef Nick, cooks up these treats for us each week, and it’s safe to say that they are a favorite.

Playdough playtime puts smiles on our faces!

Squashing, rolling, and cutting playdough is great for fine motor skill development, but there’s just something about this colorful dough that unlocks our inner sculptors, bakers, and — is that a dinosaur? — paleontologists! 🦕
