Friends of Mine Cooperative Preschool We are not just a school; we are a community, where each child is known and valued.

Friends of Mine Preschool is Asheville's longest running cooperative preschool. Combining the best aspects of many educational philosophies, including Waldorf and Montessori, we are a mixed age classroom enrolling students of 2.5-5 years of age. At Friends of Mine, we highly value group and individual contributions to the larger community. The school is formed by a group of parents with similar philosophies who organize to provide their children with a high quality preschool experience. We believe that a child’s first experience with school should be in an environment rich with parent involvement and guided by a qualified teacher. Our focus is child development and we work to provide a highly enriching experience for our students.

We celebrated the beginning of Spring by spending the entire school day outside. A treat for everyone! We enjoyed painting, playing in the mud kitchen and we had the children's full attention during storytime with Teacher Kristie 🐇

We were welcomed into Asheville Fire Station 13 for our recent field trip. What a fun experience for both kids and adults! We got to learn about and explore the fire trucks, the dormatory and kitchens and we had many fun sightings of the firemen coming down the fire pole 🚒🔥

Our December field trip to the Arboretum was special! The children attended a wildlife program where they got to look at and meet some animals. Add in a little birding tour around the property and some troll finding and it was a big, fun day! Thanks for having us .
