SkillSet is UNC Asheville STEAM Studio's community outreach program.

SkillSet currently offers programming in after-school, summer camps, and skill-building workshops for folks of all ages at the UNC Asheville STEAM Studio, as well as select on-site programming with community partners. We are so excited to share that SkillSet is hiring an Off-Site Program Coordinator!

The Off-Site Program Coordinator will help increase access to and capacity of high quality, out-of-school programming for young people in western NC by expanding the number of Skillset’s after school classes and summer camps that focus on project-based STEAM curriculum in the Dogwood Health Trust priority region.

Help us create and maintain relationships with community partners throughout the 18 county Western North Carolina region and Qualla Boundary by delivering out-of-school-time programming at new locations!

New class for adult learners!

Build a corner shelf with Amanda on Sunday, February 25. This is a great class for folks who want practice safely using woodworking tools. We’ll use a planer, miter saw, bandsaw, clamps (of course!), so many clamps, and also learn a few assembly techniques using a drill.
