SWRHS Cougar Band

Band camp is quickly approaching, and we are excited to begin preparing for a successful marching season! Band camp is an important time for students to learn music, marching fundamentals, and build teamwork. To help your child have a safe and productive experience, please make sure they arrive each day with the following items:

Required Daily Items
* Instrument and all necessary equipment
* Music binder/flip folder and pencil
* Athletic shoes (no sandals or crocs)
* Comfortable clothing appropriate for outdoor activity
* Hat or visor
* Sunscreen
* Refillable water jug or large water bottle
* Lunch/snacks (if applicable)
* Deodorant
* Any required medications (students should notify staff if needed)

Recommended Items
* Sunglasses
* Cooling towel
* Extra socks
* Small towel or rag
* Portable battery-powered fan
* Foldable camp chair for breaks

Students should be prepared to spend extended time outdoors in warm weather conditions. Staying hydrated and wearing appropriate clothing are essential for a safe and successful camp experience.

Please encourage your child to arrive on time each day and ready to participate fully. Consistent attendance at band camp is critical to the success of the entire ensemble.

Band camp dates:
Aug3rd–7th, Aug 10th-14th
M-Th 8am-6pm, Fri 8am-12pm

SWRHS Drumline Auditions for the 2026/2027 Marching Band
Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 from 3:30pm - 4:30pm
In the SWRHS Band Room

Come ready to play and rotate on all marching percussion instruments! (Must be a rising freshman - senior to audition)

We will play a few basic rudiments and read a cadence or two!
