The following message was sent to the SWRMS community via Apptegy on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at 6:30 pm:

"Good evening, this is Mike Crider, principal of SWRMS, calling to inform you of events and updates for the week of September 21. On Tuesday, football will play at NAMS and softball will play at home against RMS. Thursday, softball will again play at home against SAMS. All athletic contests begin at 4:30 pm. Our World's Finest Chocolate fundraiser will kickoff on Tuesday and students will receive information during their elective classes tomorrow regarding incentives for participating in this fundraiser which raises money for our school to purchase instructional resources and technology. We will also send first quarter interim reports home with students on Thursday in all classes so that students and families can be made aware of student academic progress to this point in the first grading period.

Our FCA club will meet before school on Wednesday at 7:15 am and FFA will meet on Wednesday after school until 4 pm. Students planning to attend FFA must be enrolled in agriculture and must sign up with Ms. Craven by the end of the day on Tuesday. The FFA is also hosting their annual mum sale this coming Thursday and Friday September 24 and 25 from 3-5:30. The sale will take place outside of Mrs. Craven's room across from the ballfield. Colors come in orange, purple, red and yellow. Sizes come in 8 inch for $8 and 12 inch for $15. A variety of pumpkins will be available for purchase as well on a first come, first serve basis. Thank you for your support of our FFA program, and thank you for your continued support of SWRMS, where we expect excellence without exception!"

The following message was sent to the SWRMS community via Apptegy on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 6:30 pm:

"Good evening, this is Mike Crider, principal of SWRMS, calling to inform you of events and updates for the week of September 14. We will hold our September School Improvement Team meeting in the media center on Tuesday at 3:15 pm. Any parent is welcome to attend who wishes to at any time. All athletic events this week are at home beginning on Tuesday as football will play SAMS and softball will play TMS. Thursday, softball will play WMS. All athletic contests are scheduled to start at 4:30 pm.

Students that qualify for Beta Club received information on Friday that requires a parent signature. This information should be reviewed and returned to our guidance department as soon as possible. We also want to encourage families of students that are bus riders to ensure they have downloaded the "Here Comes the Bus" app, as bus routes may have changes in times due to the addition of new stops on certain buses. We also want to let our community know that students will receive information in their elective classes next Monday, September 21, about our school-wide fundraiser with World's Finest Chocolate. Finally, students and families can pre-order copies of this year's yearbook by ordering online at www.jostensyearbook.com. Please email Ms. Acord, our art teacher and yearbook advisor, with any further questions regarding the 26-27 yearbook. The following message was sent to the SWRMS community via Apptegy on Sunday, September 6, 2026 at 6:30 pm:

"Good evening, this is Mike Crider, principal of SWRMS, calling to inform you of events and updates for the week of September 7. Please note that tomorrow, September 7, is Labor Day holiday, and there is no school for students or staff tomorrow. Students will return on Tuesday and we will begin our core rotation this week. All students should plan to report to their 2nd core class Tuesday at the beginning of the day. Wednesday our football team will kick off their season with a home game against TMS and softball will play at NAMS. Thursday, softball will play at TMS. All athletic contests are scheduled to begin at 4:30 pm.

We want to remind 7th grade students and families that if you have not obtained the TDap and meningococcal vaccinations required by the state of North Carolina, please make sure to do so by September 22, as students that have not obtained these vaccinations by September 23 may be excluded from school until proof can be submitted to the school. Please contact our school nurses, Ms. Gillespie and Ms. Blevins, with any questions regarding these vaccinations. We will also begin our World's Finest Chocolate fundraiser in approximately two weeks, and students will receive more information about this fundraising opportunity during elective classes on September 21. It is hard to believe that we have completed the first 10 days of the 26-27 school year and it has been a great start thus far. We greatly appreciate your continued support of SWRMS, where we expect excellence without exception!"
