The “Pride in the Randolph County School System (RCSS)” program honors employees who consistently demonstrate pride in the school system and exemplify strong character and commitment in their everyday work. While the program primarily highlights smaller, often unnoticed acts of dedication, it also recognizes exceptional efforts tied to larger events when appropriate.
Employees chosen for this recognition are awarded a “Pride in the Randolph County School System” lapel pin. Recipients are selected by members of the RCSS Leadership Team, school principals, or Board of Education members.
The following pages list the “Pride in RCSS” pin recipients from May 1, 2025, through April 30, 2026. We extend our sincere thanks to these outstanding employees for their dedication to the Randolph County School System.

"Good evening, this is Mike Crider, principal of SWRMS, calling to inform you of updates and events for the final week of the 25-26 school year! We plan to distribute yearbooks on Monday to students who have already ordered one and we will have limited copies available for sale for $40 cash or check payable to SWRMS. Money should be brought to either Ms. Acord or Ms. Owens, our treasurer. Tuesday, we will have our End of Year Awards assemblies for 7th grade at 11:30 am and for 6th grade at 1:15 pm. We will recognize students who achieved A/B and A honor roll for the second semester as well as the year based on final average, perfect attendance for both categories, and some individual awards that will be presented by the grade level teachers. Our 8th grade recognition will be at 8:30 am on Wednesday. Wednesday, June 10, is also the final day of school for students. Students will receive their final report cards for the year on Wednesday as well and will be dismissed at 12:55 pm on Wednesday afternoon. Report cards not distributed on Wednesday may be picked up in the front office on Thursday or Friday this week. We also want to let current eighth grade male students know that if they are interested in high school soccer, summer workouts will begin on Monday, June 15 and will run from 5-7 pm Monday through Thursday. We would also like to remind students to check our lost and found for any missing items throughout the year as the items remaining will be donated after the school year concludes. It is hard to believe that three days remain in this school year, and we are so appreciative of your continued support of SWRMS, where we expect excellence without exception!"

"Good evening, this is Mike Crider, principal of SWRMS, calling to inform you of events and updates for the week of June 1. On Tuesday, all students will take the EOG Math or EOC NC Math 1. We will begin retesting on Wednesday for EOG Reading, while Thursday will be for EOG Science 8 and Friday will be for EOG Math and EOC NC Math 1. Please note that parent permission is required for students to take part in retesting and letters will be sent home indicating your child's scores tomorrow for 8th grade Science and Wednesday for Math. Any student that takes part in retesting will keep the higher of the two scores they receive for each EOG they may retake. If there are further questions or concerns about retesting, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teachers or administration for information.
We will also hold our EOY assemblies for 7th grade and 6th grade next Tuesday, June 9, at 11:30 am and 1:15 pm respectively. Our 8th grade recognition will be held next Wednesday, June 10 at 8:30 am. We will recognize students for A and A/B Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance for both the second semester as well as for the year. We will also have other awards to present to students specific to the grade levels and we will recognize 8th grade students as they look to complete middle school next Wednesday, June 10, the final day of school for students. Students will also be dismissed at 12:55 pm next Wednesday, June 10. Finally, yearbook orders must now be taken by cash payment of $40 as online ordering has ended; copies are limited if you would still like to purchase one. It is hard to believe we are only eight days away from the end of the 25-26 school year, and we are incredibly grateful for your continued support of SWRMS, where we expect excellence without exception!"

🚍 RCSS is planning for the 2026-2027 school year! Make sure your child's transportation request is on file!
If your student will need bus transportation at the beginning of the school year and you're unsure whether a request has been submitted, please contact your child's school as soon as possible.
🎒 Families registering new Kindergarten students should also complete transportation requests early. Waiting until the last minute to register may delay bus service at the start of school.
📅 Transportation requests must be submitted by July 31, 2026 for students to ride the bus during the first two weeks of school. Requests received after July 31 will not be eligible for bus service until after Labor Day.

"Good evening, this is Mike Crider, principal of SWRMS, calling to inform you of updates and events for the week of May 25. First, we want to congratulate our baseball and soccer teams on representing our school throughout the spring season in a positive way and for the effort they demonstrated this season. We also congratulate boys soccer on finishing as the regular season conference champions and tournament runner-up. Please note that tomorrow, May 25, is Memorial Day holiday, and there is no school for students or staff tomorrow. Tuesday, we will have our Athletic Recognition in the gym at 5:30 pm, and all of our athletes and families are welcome to attend as our coaches will recognize their respective students and teams from this school year. We will also begin EOG testing this week, as all students will take the EOG Reading on Thursday and 8th grade students will take the EOG Science on Friday. It is important for all students to get plenty of rest in preparation for EOG testing as well as arriving at school on time to limit the amount of makeup testing sessions that are needed the following week. Our 8th grade dance will also be held on Friday evening from 6:30-9:30 pm in the gym; students attending must be counted present at school on Friday in order to take their EOG in Science and meet the attendance requirement necessary to attend after-school events.
All students will take their EOG Math or EOC NC Math 1 on Tuesday, June 2. We will also send letters home with students the day after they take their respective tests so that we can notify students and parents of their scores as well as obtain permission for retesting for any student testing Not Proficient. Retesting for EOG Reading will be Wednesday, June 3, EOG Science 8 will be Thursday, June 4, and retesting for EOG/EOC Math will be Friday, June 5. Any student who retests will get to keep the higher of the two scores with no penalty. Our EOY assemblies will be held by grade level, as 7th grade will be Tuesday, June 9, at 11:30 am, 6th grade will also be Tuesday, June 9, at 1:15 pm, and 8th grade recognition on Wednesday, June 10, at 8:30 am. Wednesday, June 10, is also a two-hour early dismissal, and all students will be dismissed on Wednesday, June 10 at 12:55 pm. Wednesday, June 10, is also the final day of school for students. It is hard to believe we are down to the last 12 days of school and we are incredibly grateful for your continued support of SWRMS, where we expect excellence without exception!"
