"Good evening, this is Mike Crider, principal of SWRMS, calling to inform you of information pertinent to the beginning of the 26-27 school year! School supply lists and Open House information can be found on our website in the school's Google folder and Open House will take place on Tuesday, August 18 from 4-6 pm for all students and grade levels, and student schedules for classes will be available from the student's homeroom teacher. We will have lists of homeroom teachers displayed on grade level hallways outlining which room students should report to for their schedule. There will also be an optional meeting at 4:45 pm in the gym for any parent and student interested in getting general information about middle school, most of which has been passed along at previous transitional events held in the spring. Please note that the first day of school for students is Monday, August 24.

We also wanted to let students know that fall sports tryouts may begin tomorrow, August 10. Softball tryouts will run tomorrow through Wednesday from 5:45-7:30 pm and football practices will begin tomorrow running from 5-7 pm each evening. Students interested in trying out must have a current sports physical on file and must meet eligibility requirements in attendance and academics based on the results of the second semester last school year. This is our first weekly phone call, which will be delivered every Sunday evening at 6:30 pm letting you know of the events for the upcoming week. Additionally, messages are sent through email and posted on the school's page, while abbreviated messages are sent to the community via text message. It's hard to believe we are merely two weeks away from the start of school, and we are incredibly grateful for your support of SWRMS, where we expect excellence without exception!"

From our PTO: Would you or your business like to help us spread SWRMS Sunshine for our staff? We would love to have a Sunshine Cart for each month of school. You can donate funds and we will do the shopping for you or you can bring the items to us! We will walk around gifting the staff with goodies. Some examples of previous carts have been donuts, baked goods, K-cups, individual bagged chips/snacks, drinks, and some even chose to pay for Kona Ice or coffee trucks to set up for each staff member to choose their treat. We currently have August 2026 through June 2027. Just let us know what month you would like! *We have approximately 70 staff members.

This school year, students in all 17 elementary schools, all 6 middle schools and Eastern Randolph High School will be provided meals at no cost through the Community Eligibility Program. No free or reduced-price meal application is required for students attending these schools.

Meal prices for non-Community Eligibility schools, which includes all other high schools, are $1.25 for breakfast and $2.45 for lunch. If you believe your family would qualify for a reduced-price meal benefit, apply online at www.lunchapplication.com

If your family received a notification letter stating that all of your students are approved for meal benefits for the 2026-2027 school year, no application is required to be completed. Contact School Nutrition Services if any of your student's names are not listed on the letter.

If you have any questions about free and reduced-price meal benefits, the application process, or the Community Eligibility program, please call School Nutrition Services at 336-633-5130.
