Randolph Community College's Child Advocacy Studies (CAST) certificate program prepares students to recognize, respond to, and help prevent child maltreatment through a multidisciplinary approach. Whether you work in education, childcare, social services, healthcare, law enforcement, or simply want to make a difference, these courses can help you build valuable knowledge and skills.

She came to the United States unsure of her English. This year, she walked across the Commencement stage as an award recipient.

When Ruth Lambeth moved to the U.S. from Colombia, she was afraid to speak English.

"I felt very afraid to speak or go anywhere because I did not understand the language."

She took a chance and enrolled in English as a Second Language (ESL) classes through Randolph Community College's College & Career Readiness program.

From there, she continued building toward her future through:
• ESL
• Citizenship classes
• Digital Literacy
• GED classes
• Integrated Education & Training (IET) in Early Childhood Education

Today, Ruth has earned her North Carolina Early Childhood Credential and is pursuing a career in education while continuing her own studies.

Her advice?

"Do not be afraid to try."

Future Armadillos stopped by today's Moodle Pop-Ins at RCC's Education & Engagement Center for hands-on training with Distance Education LMS Administrator and Technology Specialist Nathan Hilton.

The sessions gave participants an opportunity to ask questions, learn helpful Moodle tips and tricks, and make sure they're ready when fall classes begin.
