We had a great time last night reconnecting with classmates. It was so good to see everyone. We are truly blessed to have gone to school with such a fine group of people. Thanks to all those that helped plan this special evening.

It can’t believe it has been a year since Gordon left our earthly home. I miss his sweet smile, his loving laugh and his warm heart every second of every day. He was not only my best friend, my sweetheart, my husband, the father of my children, he was a precious gift from God. Placing this cross in memory of him this weekend was a very emotional experience. My sons and I were glad to have a place to mark his memory. We drive by this spot every day on our way home since it is just a little over a mile from our house. Before we left I was overcome with peace. It was like he was there telling us that everything is going to be alright. It was like he was letting us know he would be with us watching over us every moment of every day. Leaving wasn’t so hard because I know I will feel his presence daily and know he is watching over me and our sons. Please keep us in your prayers. ~ Myra Smith Hoover ❤️

Six weeks ago I lost my high school sweetheart, my true love, my best friend, wonderful husband, great father, awesome Paw Paw, faithful brother. I love you Gordon Hoover forever! Still trying to figure out my new normal in life without you. It is overwhelming and each day I thank God for giving us the past 40 years together. Now if I could just get a grip on my emotions. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my lifetime. God please give me the strength to wake up each morning and be thankful for all the wonderful times we had together instead of thinking about the wonderful times we were supposed to have to look forward to. Life is short. Love your family daily while you have them because it is so hard getting out of bed every morning knowing that they are gone from this earthly home.
