SWRMS FFA

SWRMS hunter safety competed in the district tournament today. All teams did great and archery brought home first place! So proud of all the kids!

The FFA program showed the staff at SWRMS our appreciation for FFA week 💛💙

If you would like to support our program but are not sure how, here is a great way! The FFA alumni is our support system and does everything they can to make sure our students get the best out of the program! They are in need of more members to keep their program running! Past FFA members, parents of past and current FFA members and community members are all encouraged to join!

The next meeting is this Thursday January 16 @ 6:00 p.m. in the high school cafeteria

On Wednesday SWRMS tried forestry for the first time at our regional competition. We learned a lot!

We like to get our hands dirty in 6th grade! We’ve been busy making soil textures, edible soil profiles, and soil sampling!

We will be collecting donations all week! Drop off items in Ms. Simmerman’s room

Happy National Ag Safety Awareness Week! 8th grade has been practicing PPE in the food industry, learning about cross-contamination, and using proper kitchen knife skills!

This years officer team has been busy the last 2 days for our officer training! We visited an escape room for team building exercises on Day 1 and then planned out most of the fall semester activities on Day 2. It’s going to be a great year!

Looking for some ideas for SAE projects this year? Take a look at some of the general competitions you can enter at the NC State Fair this October! Projects range from showing chickens, baking goods, photography, woodworking, crafts, and more!

While we were at convention, member Kendall Hagerman was busy at the NJHFA in Des Moines, IA competing in light rifle. Kendall placed 9th in the nation!
