It can be tough stuff being a kid...
Not at Curiosity Zone of Ashburn though, we have proudly impacted over 150,000 children's lives over 15 years so it’s important every child leaves us with a smile!
Now, we could talk all day about our kids, so let's do that briefly ;)...
Curiosity Zone of Ashburn came about with the goal of improving YOUR child's ability to perform in the classroom, by spending their summers enjoyably developing skills that positively influence their education!
We like to think we have achieved that, but don't just take our word for it, hear from some of the Mum's and Dad’s...
“The Curiosity Zone is so incredibly amazing! Such an important part of the community!” – Linda
“Great place for little scientists. Very friendly staff!” – Laila
“Outstanding staff, clean facilities, excellent customer service. I celebrated the 8th birthday of my daughter at Curiosity Zone, and it was the best birthday ever (that's what my daughter told me later).”
Each year we enjoy watching our little 'students’ learn and very noticeably improve their confidence and social skills by simply being in a fun, safe and educational environment with kids the same age.
Now, whether you plan to join us this summer or maybe you are considering other summer arrangements for your child we want to share with you our top tips for ensuring your child has a fun summer of learning!
1. Let them PLAY!
Kids learn through playing so turn boring activities into a fun game which requires some practical problem-solving or a small challenge!
2. Learn through all 5 senses!
It’s been scientifically proven that kids learn best when all 5 senses are used, we’ve observed this at Curiosity Zone of Ashburn time-and-time again, for instance at Slime University week!
3. Let them solve problems with friends!
We’ve found that kids need to communicate with others! Learning how to solve problems in cute little teams is actually a very important skill to develop at any age.
4. Understand how your child learns!
Kids also have different ways of learning just like adults do. Some children learn more effectively by learning and some by seeing.
It is important to understand which category your child falls under, mostly because this will help them understand information better and learning will be easier overall.
5. Their dreams are their reality...
When your child dreams, it is in someway their reality. Has your child ever run around pretending to be an animal or an astronaut, a tree or a little monster? Support their dreams in every way possible.
We hope you find our tips useful this summer :)
At Curiosity Zone of Ashburn, we really aim to help we help kids to visualise their dreams with different themed weeks from Slim University to Engineer Mania! Our children build their own contraptions, run their own science experiments, and even care for real animals! So, when you pick up your child, we can't promise that you won't end up with a very cute aspiring astronaut, doctor, vet or scientist...
