🏺 Terracotta Pottery

We explored ancient pottery and learned how people made it, used it, and expressed their sense of beauty through simple forms and patterns.

We don’t have a kiln, but we used terracotta-colored clay to experience its warm color and handmade texture in our own way.

We’re already excited to pop the balloons next week and see the final forms! 🎈

🪞 Mirror, Mirror | 거울 페인팅

이번 수업에서는 얀 반 에이크(Jan van Eyck), 쿠사마 야요이(Yayoi Kusama), 아니쉬 카푸어(Anish Kapoor) 등 거울을 흥미롭게 활용한 작가들의 작품을 감상하고, 각자 자신만의 거울을 디자인해 보았습니다.

거울 위에 아크릴 펜으로 글과 그림을 자유롭게 표현하고, 클레이로 입체적인 장식까지 더해 세상에 하나뿐인 나만의 거울을 완성했습니다. ✨

익숙한 거울이 아이들의 아이디어와 손을 거쳐 하나의 특별한 작품으로 변신한 시간이었습니다.

🏺 고대 이집트 미술
이집트 미술의 정면성과 사후세계에 대한 생각을 함께 알아봤어요.
여러 상징을 그림으로 표현하고, 상형문자가 있는 그림을 봤어요. 그런 다음 작품은 우이 스타일로 종이 가장자리를 태워 오래된 유물 같은 느낌으로 마무리했습니다 ✨

뉴욕 **메트로폴리탄 미술관(The Met)**에서 다양한 이집트 미술 작품을 직접 볼 수 있다는 것도 팁!

🎨 Croquis Olympics

We turned drawing into a fun challenge with 30-second and 1-minute timers! The goal was not to draw perfectly, but to observe quickly and draw with confidence.

As the class went on, the kids really got the hang of it and did a great job capturing the main shapes and features in such a short time!

🐞 Drawing Bugs | Observation + Imagination

We explored insects through artworks by Flegel, Shin Saimdang, and Nam Gye-u.

Students first drew a real insect, then mixed 2–3 bugs to create a brand-new one. Finally, they chose a background for their insects to live in.

So much observation and imagination in every piece! 🦋

🎨 티셔츠 염색 미술 수업

접는 방법에 따라 매번 다른 무늬가 만들어졌고, 모든 티셔츠와 가방이 세상에 하나뿐인 작품이 되었어요.
물에 끓이는 염색법은 다들 처음해봐 신기하고 좋았다고 하네요. 모두가 뿌듯했던 시간😆 #애쉬번미술
