In 2007, I moved to North Carolina and left the job I was working to homeschool my children… or so I thought.
God’s plans for my life were far greater than my limited understanding.
My journey began like this:
• April 2007 (Good Friday): I moved to North Carolina.
• June 2007: I resigned from Hilton and submitted my notice of intent to homeschool my children.
• August 2007: What I believed would be homeschooling my two children became the opening of a school. It began with my two children and the son of a former coworker, and from there it continued to grow.
My youngest student was just 6 months old, and my oldest was 10 years old.
The more willing and obedient I was to God’s calling, the more He poured out His favor. He provided the furniture, the vehicle, which eventually led to my after-school program, and every opportunity for growth and expansion that has followed.
Through it all, I never put the money first. I always kept God first.
When you trust God’s vision more than your own limitations, no obstacle can stop what He has called you to do. No one can put an end to who God says you are.
