77% of high school band students are told they won’t have time for college marching band. For anyone who has said, heard, or even thought they can’t do college Marching Band because they “need more time to study/practice,” here is some data showing how time is really used on average. The results compare marching band and non-marching band students who are music majors and non-music majors. This has often been said, but here is the data to back it up.
