The first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are the BEST days of the year. These are days beloved to Allah ﷻ and filled with immense opportunity for worship, forgiveness, and reward.

The Prophet ﷺ said that there are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.

May Allah (swt) allow us to witness these days, benefit from them, and accept our deeds. Ameen.

🍽️ A new tradition in the books.

To close out Teacher Appreciation Week, our high school seniors started a beautiful new tradition by preparing homemade dishes for the teachers themselves ✨

From stuffed grape leaves, to beef pastries, to chicken maqlouba, each dish was made with thoughtfulness and care, making the gesture even more meaningful.

Alhumdulilah, this was a very special and memorable way to end the week, and a reflection of the gratitude and connection our students have with their teachers

📚 This past weekend, our Hidayah moms came together for a beautiful afternoon of connection, reflection, and conversation through our Moms Book Club.

The group discussed A Place of Refuge by Asmaa Hussein, leading to meaningful conversations about faith, motherhood, personal growth, and navigating life with intention and trust in Allah 🌿✨

Moments like these remind us that Hidayah Academy is more than just a school, it is a community where families grow, support one another, and build lasting connections rooted in faith. 🤲🏼💪🏼

The best reminders are often from those closest to your age. Hidayah Academy launched a new initiative with our high school boys leading weekly khutbahs for their peers.

But behind each khutbah is preparation, mentorship, and growth. Students choose their topics ahead of time, review authentic sources and ahadith, and learn the proper structure and pillars of a Jumu’ah khutbah, from how to begin and conclude, to understanding what makes a khutbah valid.

It’s more than just giving a talk, it’s soft training in leadership, responsibility, adab, and public speaking, followed by feedback and reflection that helps students grow with confidence and sincerity.

Throughout the month, our students delivered thoughtful reminders on topics relevant to faith, character, and everyday life:

A select group of our students were nominated to participate in the Muslim Youth Leadership Design Challenge, organized by in collaboration with .youth and , and generously sponsored by .arabic

This highly selective experience brought together youth from across the DMV to tackle real issues facing Muslim communities. Through design thinking, our students collaborated, built solutions, and pitched their ideas, while also networking and gaining valuable skills for their future and college journeys 💡🗣️
