What an awesome letter to our amazing senior class!
An Open Letter to Virginia Academy’s Senior Class:
We wait and watch with you. Your final year of high school is typically accentuated by key milestone moments that are seen as rites of passage. It has not missed us that having these rites paused indefinitely is cause for distress. But as we all navigate the new normal please know that we will find ways to celebrate you.
Please know that we are all so proud of you. You continue to show up for yourselves and we see that what’s happening now has not stopped your commitment to excellence. The acceptance letters and scholarships (+1.3M) keep coming in and soon you’ll make your declaration and commit to the college/university where you will continue your studies this fall. For now we watch you fully embrace distance learning completing your assignments on or ahead of time to finish strong. You eagerly show up for chapel and impromptu virtual meetings as touch points to check in with your peers and teachers. The laughs and smiles put us at ease because they highlight your resilience.
Whether you joined us as a preschool student, during elementary, middle or high school you will graduate Virginia Academy as a #Patriot and forever be part of the #VAAfamily. Your success here leaves clues for others to follow. We are with you and can’t wait to see what you’ll accomplish. Your friendships will carry you through the uncertain times so keep them strong. You’ll see one another soon and the smiles and love you share will bridge the gap of time. Don’t feel cheated out of these moments instead be renewed that your place in history will be defined as the first graduating class that did it differently because of your resourcefulness.
We don’t know what the future holds but we know who holds the future. Now go out and change the world. #theverybest #thebestisyettocome

Preschool online learning!
Our preschool teachers are diligently planning an exciting, online learning experience for our students!
Covid-19, known as the Coronavirus, is rapidly spreading throughout the US. But the spread of this virus can be greatly reduced if we, as citizens & people of faith, work together.
Our church services will not be taking place in our building for the next 2 Sundays, March 15 and March 22. We will be going to church on-line.
Together, let’s be a part of the solution by stemming the spread of this virus, and unleashing the light of Christ during this season.
Preschool: What a wonderful week to start off literacy month!

Even Our seventwelve bee got into the action! We will end this week with an indoor field trip of a traveling planetarium, face painting and crafts! Then on to literacy month, kicking it off with a Dr. Seuss's birthday celebration!
Mark your calendars! You don’t want to miss it!

Preschool Chapel: Mrs. Reed and her class sharing with us the reason for the season...Jesus!
Yesterday in chapel, our upper school students heard from our Student Services Director, Mrs. Shanay Howard. We learned that God calls us into our destiny, not our yesterday. We can walk with confidence when we walk in the identity that God gave us. We believe God designed us to be spectacular! (Ps 139:14-16)
[12/13/19] Due to inclement weather, Virginia Academy will operate on a two-hour delay. Virginia Academy will open at 9:00 am for full day preschool students and for students enrolled in the Before Care Program only. All other students may arrive no earlier than 10:00am. School will begin at 10:30 am. Please check back for any updates prior to leaving home.
Our 3rd-5th grade students will be learning about simple machines and creating their own pulleys during their monthly STEM enrichment class.
Each Lower School class adopted a family in need for Christmas. Our families generously blessed these families with gifts! Thank you for your generosity and helping us to spread the love of God this Christmas season! 🎄 🎁
